第二屆國際蚊蟲及蚊媒病監測和防治學術研討會（徐爾烈會友提供）

中國昆蟲學會主辦的“第二屆國際蚊蟲及蚊媒病監測和防治學術研討會（The 2nd International forum for surveillance and control of mosquito and mosquito-borne diseases）”暨“第七屆全國醫學昆蟲學學術討論會”將於2011年5月下旬在中國北京舉行。本次會議的主旨在於通過與國際上的同行進行學術交流，瞭解國內外蚊蟲和蚊媒病的監測和防治的最新研究進展，促進和擴大國際間的學術交流與合作，以應對目前老的蚊媒病不斷復發和新的蚊媒病不斷出現的局面。屆時將邀請來自WHO 和美國、英國、德國、印度等國家數十名專家參與本次會議。

The Journal of Entomology and Nematology (JEN) is a multidisciplinary peer-reviewed journal published monthly by Academic Journals (http://www.academicjournals.org/JEN). JEN is dedicated to increasing the depth of the subject across disciplines with the ultimate aim of expanding knowledge of the subject.

Call for Papers

JEN will cover all areas of the subject. The journal welcomes the submission of manuscripts that meet the general criteria of significance and scientific excellence, and will publish:

l Original articles in basic and applied research

l Case studies

l Critical reviews, surveys, opinions, commentaries and essays

Mosquito semen to control dengue

Combining whole-organism isotope labeling with a proteomics approach, researchers identified 93 seminal fluid proteins and 52 predicted sperm proteins involved in the reproduction of the mosquito Aedes aegypti, a dengue fever vector. These proteins could become targets to control mosquito populations that spread the disease. (more detail)
