The 2nd International Symposium on Insect Midgut Biology

The 1st Symposium on Insect Midgut Biology was held in Guangzhou,China, from April 7-11, 2008.

The meeting brought together researchers utilizing a diverse set of techniques and approaches for research focused on the insect midgut and was well attended by researchers from more than 20 countries. The 2nd International Symposium on Insect Midgut Biology will be held from Sept 24-28, 2012, in Guangzhou, China. The meeting will broadly cover the research areas in insect midgut biology in six themes: 1) midgut stem cells and in vitro systems; 2) midgut structure, physiology and molecular biology; 3) interactions of the insect midgut with plants; 4) interactions of the insect midgut with pathogens; 5) midgut functional genomics; 6) midgut proteomics.
