First Announcement
We cordially invite you to
participate in the Fourth Meeting of the IOBC group “Integrated Control of
Plant Feeding Mites”. The meeting is organized by the Department of Agricultural
Sciences, Biotechnology and Food Science of the Cyprus University of
Technology, Limassol.
The general aim of the meeting is to
bring together students, researchers and company representatives dealing with
all aspects of integrated and biological control of plant-feeding mites, to
discuss approaches to increase the effectiveness of pest control. We are
strongly encouraging all participants to give a presentation on topics related
to mite biology, ecology, behaviour and integrated / biological control. All
papers will be published in the IOBC/WPRS Bulletin.
Venue
The meeting will take place in the
historical, sea-side city of Paphos, which is included in UNESCO’s World
Heritage List. The city has a rich history tracing back to the Neolithic
period, and is believed to be the birthplace of Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess of
Love.
Pafos, with its pleasant harbour and
medieval fort, combines a cosmopolitan holiday resort, spectacular countryside
and historical sites. The temperate climate of the region offers the
possibility of enjoying its beaches and hills year round. Nature lovers will enjoy spending time in Akamas National Park, one
of the most pristine coastal areas of Cyprus. The small villages on the
surrounding mountains are well-known for their wineries and scenic scenery.

The local organizer, scientific
committee along with the work group convenor will do their best to make the
fourth meeting a scientifically stimulating and successful event. We are
