Dear colleagues,
I am writing to announce and provide
details on the upcoming 2013 International EPG Workshop, to be taught this July
on the campus of California State University, Fresno. You are receiving this
mass-email because you published a paper in the last 4 years using Electrical
Penetration Graph (EPG) monitoring of insect feeding, you attended the
Hemipteran-Plant Interactions Symposium in 2011, you attended an earlier one of
my EPG Workshops (2005, 2009, and 2010), or you have expressed an interest in
attending the 2013 Workshop. To reduce pressure on your inbox, this will be the
only mass-mailing sent. Hereafter, only those who indicate interest will
receive any further emails.
Attached, please find a flyer for
the 2013 EPG Workshop, the registration form, and two brochures with further
information. These brochures provide: 1) Details on costs, registration
methods, and all other logistical information for the Workshop, and 2) a list
of reasons why even experienced/advanced EPG users should attend this year’s
Workshop (e.g. learn how to use the all-new, near-automatic statistical
analysis programs for the Sarria aphid parameters).
Early-bird registration (the
cheapest) is due by May 15th.
The workshop will have a website (www.fresnostate.edu/cge/epg.html)
that is currently under construction but will be available no later than
mid-February. Please check it frequently for updated information.
For the first time, this Workshop
will have some Industry sponsorship, allowing us to offer scholarships to
offset fees or travel expenses. Funding has not been finalized, so future
mailings (to parties who express interest NOW) and information on the web will
provide details. The deadline for scholarship applications will be April 15th.
Enrollment will be limited to 36
participants, accepted in order of completed registration forms. To receive
future emails, please reply to this message immediately, to get your name on
the distribution list for interested researchers.
I look forward to welcoming you to
the 2013 EPG Workshop in July!
Best
wishes,
Elaine
